Process

San Francisco’s Mission District is a cornucopia of peoples and personalities. It is a place in constant juxtaposition between economic class and social values. A place where one mans trash is another’s treasure. The latter was the case for an old mid-century school chair discovered abandoned in the districts core. Black Rabbit saw potential, and instead of leaving it to rot and rust we build a new and beautiful creation. Removing the destroyed particle board seating and replacing it with clean, quality Tennessee Red Cedar, Black Rabbit was able to transform a chair left for dead into a  beautiful piece of functional and fashionable art.

Avocados & Coconuts is a San Francisco based company that creates brilliant and beautiful media. Black Rabbit was asked to lend a hand in designing and building the office space. Infusing an eco-friendly tone with the ethos of surf culture, the office quickly took on an identity of its own. Salvaged Redwood slab desks that redefined the norms and walls that look like landscapes were just a few of the ways in which Black Rabbit helped upgrade the bleak and uninspiring common editing suite into a place that made dreams become reality.
